Solid Security – Local QR Code is a security feature within the Solid Security WordPress plugin that helps users set up two-factor authentication using a mobile authenticator app. It improves login protection by allowing users to scan a QR code with apps such as Google Authenticator or Authy and connect secure time-based verification to their WordPress accounts.

First, users can open their WordPress profile settings and start the Solid Security Two-Factor Authentication setup process. Then, they select the Mobile App option and scan the generated QR code using a supported authentication app. After that, the app creates a rotating 6-digit verification code that users enter to complete setup. This process adds a stronger login layer beyond standard passwords.

In addition, Solid Security supports backup codes, email verification, and trusted device options for recovery and safer account access. Users can also combine mobile app authentication with other security methods for stronger account protection. The system requires at least one alternative method, such as email or backup codes, when mobile app authentication is enabled.
