WooCommerce – WePay

WooCommerce – WePay was a payment gateway extension that allowed WooCommerce stores to accept payments through the WePay platform. It enabled merchants to process transactions using credit cards and bank accounts directly from their website. This integration provided a structured way to connect WooCommerce with WePay services for online payments.

The extension supported both standard checkout and iframe-based payment forms. As a result, store owners could choose between redirecting customers or keeping the payment experience embedded within the site. This flexibility helped maintain a consistent checkout flow while adapting to different store requirements.

In addition, WooCommerce – WePay required API credentials to establish a secure connection between the store and the WePay account. The system processed transactions through WePay servers, which reduced the need to handle sensitive payment data locally. Therefore, it improved security and simplified compliance requirements for merchants.

However, WooCommerce retired this extension in February 2017 because WePay no longer allowed individual merchants to register for payment processing. As a result, the plugin is no longer available for new users and does not receive updates or support.
